A complete program review

Follow the numbers.
See the whole picture.

F&I has evolved. A familiar program deserves a fresh look at what the store earns, what reinsurance delivers, and what each costs.

Start with six questions.

Mark the areas supported by clear reports and verifiable figures. Bring unresolved questions into your review; identify anything that does not apply.

We use the numbers to determine what is working, what can improve, and which options fit your goals.

Your selections stay in this browser. Compare the same periods and calculation methods; written premium, earned premium, paid claims, and incurred claims are different measures.

Who is being paid—and does ownership know?

Transparency goes beyond a fee schedule. Program-related commissions, referral payments, incentives, and arrangements involving dealership personnel should be clearly disclosed to ownership. Owners should understand who receives compensation, who funds it, and whether the arrangement creates a competing incentive.

We believe arrangements involving dealership employees should be disclosed to and approved by ownership. As part of a complete review, request a written explanation of compensation arrangements from the companies and people supporting your program.

10 reasons to reevaluate your current program
01

Your dealership has evolved

Growth, acquisitions, inventory changes, and a different customer mix can create new requirements for the program and the company supporting it.

02

Your ownership goals have changed

Current income, expansion, long-term wealth, and succession call for different priorities. The relationship should reflect yours.

03

Compensation should be visible to ownership

Who receives commissions, referral fees, incentives, or other payments connected to your program? Ownership should understand who benefits, how payments are funded, and whether they influence recommendations.

04

Product options deserve comparison

Evaluate coverage, pricing, eligibility, and service across available options instead of relying on a familiar product mix.

05

Performance opportunities remain unexplored

Review income per deal, product penetration, cancellations, financing options, and post-sale opportunities against your store’s needs.

06

Reinsurance needs ongoing attention

Regular loss-ratio and reserve reviews help put underwriting performance and investment results in context.

07

Control and flexibility affect long-term value

Understand your decision-making authority, options for change, and the consequences of ending or modifying the relationship.

08

Capital access must fit your plans

Review reserve requirements, distribution rules, and liquidity before relying on program funds for growth or other uses.

09

Customer experience affects the dealership

Claims handling, support, and issue resolution should reinforce the standards you expect your customers to experience.

10

The relationship must support your next chapter

A future sale, ownership transition, or generational transfer should be considered in both program structure and ongoing planning.
